Google announced that Twitter has joined its Friend Connect network.
Whenever you join a Friend Connected website, Google now allows you to decide whether or not you use your Twitter profile. You can quickly update your Twitter friends with details and links of any site you are viewing.
Because Twitter is growing in popularity, Google’s new option opens doors to web developers to create new widgets and make the site more interactive, thus putting Google ahead of the game in its quest to offer enhanced portable social tools for the web.
Users who want to integrate their Twitter friends into a Google profile simply have to open your profile page, click on Basics, and add Twitter to the profile. As soon as they allow Google to access their username and password, Google Friend Connect will sync.
Once the sites are integrated, users can share information from any Friend Connect-enabled site via Twitter and a Tweet.
