No price gap between first-tier and second-tier LCD TV brands

First-tier LCD TV makers such as Toshiba, Sanyo and Philips are now facing heated competition from second-tier LCD TV makers which are pushing their market share through pricing strategy. Prices for 42″ LCD TVs from Toshiba are now in the same range of Syntax-Brillian’s Olevia-branded TVs while quotes for Philips’ Magnavox-branded LCD TVs are similar to that of Vizio-branded TVs, according to sources.
