Las Vegas (NV) – Linksys today announced the “immediate availability” of its first draft 802.11n products, based on Broadcom silicon.
Linksys is making no specific throughput claims for the Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT300N) and Wireless-N Notebook Adapter (WPC300N). Instead the company describes the products as having “four times the range and up to 12 times the throughput of Wireless-G”. Like most other of the first crop of draft 11n routers, the WRT300N’s per-client throughput will be limited by its built-in 10/100 switch.
The WRT300N and WPC300N are currently available for $150 and $120 respectively only through Best Buy. The products are listed as backordered at BestBuy.com with a 1-2 week estimated ship time.
