Google to open R&D center in Taiwan

Google today announced that it will open a research and development center in Taiwan and has hired Dr Lee-Feng Chien, former deputy director of the Academia Sinica Institute of Information Science in Taiwan, to lead the operation and help oversee Google’s R&D program for the Greater China region. “Google’s Taiwan R&D Center opening will dramatically boost Google’s service and technology development in the Greater China region,” said Dr Kai-Fu Lee, Vice President, Engineering and President of Google Greater China.
