SDRAM may be better for the bottom line than DDR2 in 2006

In terms of profits, this year SDRAM specialists Etron Technology and Elite Semiconductor Memory Technology (ESMT) will likely outpace other Taiwan memory firms, which focus on more standard DRAM, such as DDR and DDR2, according to estimates by market sources. Spot prices for 256Mbit SDRAM chips are currently US$3.6, compared to about US$1.8 for equivalent efficiently tested (eTT) chips, the sources indicated.
