Tight supply of Intel-platform chipsets helps SiS post higher profit

Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) posted after-tax profits of NT$955 million (almost US$30 million) in 2005, a strong comeback from the losses of nearly NT$2 billion it recorded in 2004, according to a February 17 company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange posted following a board of directors meeting. The tight supply of Intel-platform chipsets is generally credited with helping the positive result.
