AirMagnet has introduced a new version of its wireless LAN site survey product that integrates with its updated RF spectrum analysis product.
The AirMagnet Survey 3.0 integrates with AirMagnet’s updated Spectrum Analyzer 2.0. to provide better identification and location of specific WLAN interference sources. The spectrum analyzer product can also distinguish between Wi-Fi and non-Wi-Fi devices, which further facilitates problem identification.
Other features of AirMagnet Survey 3.0 include: AirMagnet’s patent-pending “AirWISE” to automatically identify areas that fail to meet network security, performance and compliance requirements; a capacity planning tool; automated outdoor surveys including GPS coordinates via Microsoft MapPoint integration; support for Intel Centrino WLAN cards; and automated outdoor survey capability
Features of the updated Spectrum Analyzer 2.0 include: an “802.11 Dashboard” view to better organize findings and ease problem identification; expanded device classification with 15 new device and interference sources; and the ability to record and playback real-time spectrum data.
AirMagnet Survey 3.0 and Spectrum Analyzer 2.0 will be available separately this month for $3695 and $3995 respectively. A standard edition of the survey product with fewer features is available for $1995. The integrated survey and spectrum analysis features require both the Survey 3.0 and Spectrum Analyzer 2.0 products, which will be available in a bundle for $6,995.
