Infrant Technologies adds compact TeraByte RAID NAS

Westlake Village (CA) – Network storage maker Infrant Technologies today announced the expansion of its high-capacity NAS product line.

The ReadyNAS NV features a redesigned ultra-compact chassis (8″H x 5″W x 9″D) that accomodates up to four hot-swappable Serial ATA disk trays, faster network storage processor, programmable backup button, and cable lock and carrying handle.

Infrant said the product has been optimized for digital media and includes a UPnP AV based media server that “supports all popular streaming media protocols” and is capable of handling multiple HD video streams.

Like Infrant’s existing offerings (the ReadyNAS 600/X6), the NV features a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port and incorporates Infrant’s patent-pending Expandable Protection X-RAID technology. X-RAID completely automates all RAID tasks, and enables users to expand their storage as needed without data loss. The NV also supports industry-standard RAID 0, 1 and 5 configurations.

The NV is currently available in four standard capacities: a version withoug hard drives ($649), a 1-TeraByte version ($1199), a 1.6-TeraByte version ($1699) and a 2-TeraByte version ($2299).
