Samsung Electronics has unveiled a 128Mbit double-data-rate SDRAM.
The DDR-SDRAM chip is able to connect with either the 100-MHz processor bus speeds Intel and compatible CPUs now use, as well as the upcoming 133-MHz buses. Those properties will allows DR-SDRAM chips to compete head-to-head with Direct Rambus DRAM.
Production of the DDR-SDRAM chips will begin in the second half of this year.
