NEC redefines compact PCs

NEC has designed its most compact desktop system yet: a high-performance PC about the size of a small notebook.

Code-named Millennium, the unit is set to begin shipping in the second quarter for prices starting at about $2,000. The Celeron- and Pentium III-powered units will measure about 2 inches by 10 inches by 8 inches, and will feature a 15″ detachable flat-panel display. The display and keyboard together weigh about 12 pounds.

More information on the product launch is posted on TechWeb.
