ViewSonic LCD uses Genesis chip

ViewSonic’s new VP140-2 LCD flat-panel monitor uses Genesis Microchip’s gmZ2 chip for high-quality image processing and flexible PC connections.

The gmZ2 supports auto-detection and auto-configuration, allowing consumers to plug the monitor into any standard PC and view a variety of resolutions, without any configuration hassles or compatibility problems.

An upgrade of the VP140 XGA monitor, ViewSonic’s VP140-2 weighs 6.8 pounds without its base and takes up as little as 10 percent of the space required by a conventional CRT monitor. Its 14″ viewable area is larger than the viewable area of a standard 15″ CRT monitor.
