Play Inc. has started shipping the world’s first real-time 3D sculpting and painting tool for PC and Macintosh computers.
Amorphium software eliminates the slow and difficult wireframe editing associated with existing 3D systems, allowing users to create 3D models in real-time as easily as sculpting clay, according to Play officials.
Priced at $149.95, Amorphium is designed to enable consumers to create custom 3D graphics for web sites, desktop publishing, school projects and personal creation.
“Creating shapes in Amorphium is as easy as sculpting with clay, letting users push, pull, twist, morph, stretch and bend shapes easily and interactively. This new approach makes 3D creation easy enough for school kids, yet powerful enough for professional animators,” says Mark Randall, Play’s vice president of creative development.
