Toshiba slashes notebook prices

Toshiba has reduced the price of select models of its notebook PC line by as much as $200.

Three models of its Satellite line, the Satellite 4080XCDT, 4060CDT, and 2540CDS, are now priced at $2999, $2499, and $1499, respectively. The former two notebooks feature 366MHz and 333MHz Pentium II processors, while the 2540CDS uses a 333MHz AMD K-6-2 processor.

The price of the ultra-portable Portege 3010CT, featuring a 266MHz Pentium MMX processor, has been repriced to $1599.

Finally, two configurations of the high-end Tecra 8000 notebook, the JA51 and the KH71, which feature 366MHz Pentium II processors, are being offered at $3699 and $4299, respectively.
