Coda prints music cheaply

Would-be composers can now create, play, and print sheet music on the PC using the Finale inexpensive PrintMusic! music-notation software created by Coda Music Technology.

The Windows-based product is currently selling at $69.99. The company hopes that the lower price of PrintMusic! will attract first-time buyers, who will then upgrade to the mid-level Finale Allegro, or ultimately to the high-end Finale product.

PrintMusic! has QuickStart video tips for first-time users and comes with more than 100 free music pieces. It can also download and print MIDI files straight from the Internet. Users can hear what they’ve written using PrintMusic!’s playback feature.
