Digital camera captures 30fps

MRT micro Inc. has announced the ViewPort, a compact digital camera capable of capturing images at speeds of up to 30 frames per second.

Designed for applications ranging from home observation to complex security systems, the ViewPort comes with image management, motion detection and webcam software.

The camera compresses images into M-JPEG files and stores them in an “image memory buffer” within the camera. The images can then be transmitted to a network server or a digital storage device using the integrated 10BaseT Ethernet protocol, or sent to a remote application through an optional 56 kbps PC Card modem.

The new camera combines a 32-bit microprocessor, 16MB of RAM, an integrated 10BaseT Ethernet port, one Type II PC Card slot, and a real-time operating system.

The ViewPortis available online at http://www.mrtmicro.com.
