bleem ships PlayStation emulator

bleem LLC has shipped its PlayStation emulation software into the retail channel, over the objections of Sony.

With bleem!, PC users can play hundreds of PlayStation games on their PCs, and take advantage of newer 3D hardware to play games at next-generation resolutions, according to the company.

The software went on sale last week at a variety of retail outlets, including CompUSA, Fry’s, Electronics Boutique, Hastings, and Virgin Megastores.

bleem! Claims it has already sold nearly 20,000 copies directly from its web site,

Sony unsucessfuly tried to block the sale of the software, claiming copyright infringement.

bleem! sells for $29.95, and runs on Windows 95 or 98 with DirectX 6.
