Hitachi unveils tablet-style handheld PC

Hitachi America Ltd. Has announced plans to ship its next-generation handheld PC, the tablet-style ePlate, in late July.

The Windows CE-based unit is designed for “on-demand access to information, desktop power and portable convenience.” Additionally, the ePlate employs a flat-screen panel with handwriting recognition, an “Instant On/Instant Off” capability, and battery life of approximately nine hours.
