USB video device offers full motion, low cost

LifeView Inc.’s USB CapView features Plug-and-Play USB installation and the ability to capture still frame and motion video images up to 30 frames per second at 352 by 288 pixels.

The device also sports a hardware snapshot button for simple point-and-shoot image capture.

The new device is designed to be easy to use and highly portable, requiring no additional power source other than the PC’s USB port.

The CapView can also accept video feeds from a variety of standard video equipment, including camcorders, VCRs, or desktop PC cameras. It allows users to display video up to full screen and capture still images or live motion video in up to 640-by-480 resolution.

The USB CapView sells for $79.99, and includes Cyberlink VideoLive Plus, Microsoft NetMeeting, Ulead VideoStudio & iPhoto Express, and LifeView Utility software.
