GamePC gets in the "barebones" game

GamePC has started selling “barebones” computer gaming systems.

Designed for those who wish to upgrade existing systems, or to buy a partially built system that they wish to finish themselves, the “minimal computer packages” include the CPU, main board, hard drive, case, floppy drive, CD-ROM and memory.

Three versions are available: a single-CPU overclocked Celeron system, a single-CPU Pentium III system, and a dual-CPU overclocked Celeron system. The PCs come fully assembled, tested and warranted.
