Toshiba goes "back-to-school"

Toshiba America Information Systems is introducing value-priced desktop and notebook PCs for the “back-to-school” season.

The company’s Computer Systems Division has expanded its Satellite 2590 series and Satellite 2060CDS to include more powerful processors, larger hard drives and sharper displays.

The Satellite 2590 series offers DVD-ROM as an option, and has an integrated V.90/K56flex modem and an easy-access Internet button. Starting at $1,399, the Satellite 2060CDS offers an all-in-one design with a 24X CD-ROM, floppy and 4.3GB hard drive.

The Equium 7100 series of desktops start at $969 for a 350MHz Pentium II system with a 6GB hard drive and 64MB of memory. The Equium’s patent-pending one-touch Instant Access door eases processor and memory upgrades. The Equium 7100 series is available in a full-size, mini-tower or slim-line chassis designs.
