Eidos goes for gold with Olympics titles

Entertainment software developer Eidos has signed an exclusive, multi-year deal to publish computer and video games licensed by the International Olympic Committee.

The six-year agreement with International Sports Multimedia covers the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games, and the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games, with titles designed around each venue.

The Sydney 2000 product is being developed by Attention to Detail, based in England, and is currently being designed for PC and PlayStation formats, with other platforms a possibility. Eidos COO Mike McGarvey said customers can expect a top quality game that will let people the world over feel they are able to participate in the excitement of the Millennium Games.
