HP Brio drops down to $499

The latest addition to Hewlett-Packard’s Brio business PC family, the HP Brio BA200 PC, is the company’s first branded business PC to ship for less than $500.

The $499 system ships with a 433MHz Celeron, 32MB of SDRAM, a 4.3GB hard-disk drive, a 40X CD-ROM drive and Windows 98.

HP also has an alliance with CompuServe to offer mail-in rebates of up to $400 on all new HP Brio PCs when customers subscribe to a term commitment to CompuServe 2000 Premier Internet access service.
