Y2K bug bites Bermuda exchange

The Bermuda Stock Exchange fell prey to a Y2K computer glitch, causing the electronic exchange’s daily trade report to list dividend payout dates for two issues as 1900.

Representatives said the glitch should be corrected by Monday.

The problem occurred as the exchange went back to using a computer system that was replaced last December, while upgrading software that generates the daily trade results published in island newspapers.
