PIII bottleneck end in sight?

PC makers are reporting that the shortage of new 800MHz Pentium III chips has eased, cutting customers’ wait times for supercharged PCs.

PCs configured with 800MHz P3 chips have been hard to come by ever since the high-end processor was launched in late December.

Large direct-PC vendors are now asking customers to wait eight to 10 days – down from a previous delay of up to 30 days – to get delivery of a 800MHz P3-based system.
