Leap year bug a bust

Government agencies are reporting no major problems resulting from the so-called leap year computer bug.

U.S. officials had warned that some software programmers may not have realized 2000 is a leap year, causing automated systems to mistake the last day of February as March 1. Yet except for a series of minor glitches in Japan, Singapore and New Zealand, the date passed without incident, with no glitches reported in the United States or Europe.
