HP's Mac scanners are back

After a three-year hiatus, Hewlett Packard has re-entered the Mac-compatible scanner market, introducing the ScanJet 5300C.

The 1,200-dpi flatbed device is aimed at small business and home users – especially iMac users – and comes USB and parallel interfaces.

The 36-bit-color scanner, which is compatible with Mac OS 8.5 or later, also includes a variety of Mac software.
