Microsoft takes aim at handheld leader Palm this week when it unveils PocketPC, the latest Windows CE platform.
The company is also expected to introduce MSN Mobile, a wireless Internet service for the new platform.
Palm already offers wireless Internet access with its Palm VII handheld device, and recently announced future wireless capabilities for the rest of its product line. However, Microsoft notes that while its PocketPC supports multiple 32-bit processors, the Palm OS is currently compatible only with Motorola’s 16-bit Dragonball processor.
