3Dfx delays latest graphics board

In yet another release glitch, graphics chip and board maker 3Dfx Interactive has delayed its Voodoo5 AGP board by up to two weeks due to manufacturing problems.

The company said it discovered field failure rates at very low levels in certain configurations, and is conducting further tests to determine whether a problem actually exists.

The board, scheduled to ship today, combines several of 3Dfx’s VSA-100 graphics accelerators to further improve the board’s rendering performance.
