Kenwood aims at CD quality MP3s

Consumer audio force Kenwood Corp. has announced a technology they say restores the high frequencies lost when audio files are compressed into MP3 format. If it is true that this technique makes MP3s sound as good as the original recordings, it will remove an important reason for buying the actual CD rather than simply downloading the file from Napster or one of the similar services. Both sides in the struggle between Napster and the music industry will be following this development with interest.
