AMD confirms Corvette plans

AMD confirmed plans to release low power mobile versions of its Athlon and Duron processors in the fourth quarter of this year, according to The Register.

Code-named Corvette, the mobile Athlon, produced with .18 micron technology, will be released in speeds of 650MHz, 700MHz, 8xx and 9xx, will include integrated full-speed level-two cache on the die with a 200MHz S2K interface, and allow 64-bit data and eight-bit ECC. The 600MHz and 650MHz mobile Duron chips will be aimed at the low-end notebook market between $1,000 and $2,000.
