Intel roadmap update revealed

Intel’s plans for the near future have been released to at least one analyst. With more information from the July update, the story of Intel’s market battle with AMD is becoming clearer. Among the bits of intelligence gleaned by various analysts from the document are the fact that the company will release a 2GHz Pentium 4 next year. Additionally, previous reports that Intel is using Rambus memory only for high-end desktops have been confirmed, and it appears that the high end of the market might be enough to satisfy the clause in the Intel/Rambus licensing agreement that causes Rambus to pay Intel royalties.
