Via sells PC chip sets supporting DDR SDRAM

Taiwan’s Via Technologies Inc. is selling two families of PC chip sets, the VIA Apollo Pro266 and VIA Apollo KT266, that may expedite OEMs’ move to double-data-rate SDRAM memory in high-performance PCs and other systems. The VIA Apollo Pro266 is, reportedly, the first DDR-enabled chipset to support Intel’s Pentium III processors while the VIA Apollo KT266 will support AMD’s Athlon line.
