Word from Macintosh retailers has it that disappointing sales may lead to a rebate program for the PowerMac G4 Cube. Reportedly, the rebate would refund $300 rebate to consumers buying a PowerMac G4 Cube with an Apple monitor, marking down the price of the lowest-end Cube to $1,499 without monitor. Rumors also have it that Apple will rebate its PowerBook line of notebook computers $200. Apple warned last month that revenues would not meet expectations and cited Cube sales of a cause. Apple has also announced that the senior vice president of worldwide sales will retire this year.
