Sony admits part shortage is its own

Hitachi America, Ltd. has announced what it says is the industry’s highest capacity 1″ high hard drive at 73.9GB. The DK32DJ-72 drive’s sales point is the increase in storage without an increase in size. The second highest storage device with the same footprint has, reportedly, half the capacity. The company also says that the smaller drive uses about 25 percent less power than 1.6″ drives with the same storage.
