AMD validates Samsung DDR modules

Toshiba has begun shipping samples of its small form factor 2.5″ hard drive with a capacity of 30GB, reportedly the greatest storage capacity in a drive of that size yet. With a density of 26.7 gigabits per square inch, two 2.5″ disks holding 15GB of data each are contained in one 30GB drive. A single platter 15GB drive will also be available. Both should be for sale in March.

The company says the drives have 13 milliseconds average seek times and 100M bits-per-second data transfer rate. Rotation speed is 4,200 rpm and drives can withstand a 175G operational shock while running and 800 Gs non-operating.
