Sega admits Dreamcast in limbo

Microsoft Corp. has paid $20 million to Sun Microsystems to end the case claiming that the Redmond OS company altered Java, in violation of its licensing agreement, so that it worked optimally only on Windows. The settlement ends Microsoft’s Java licenses and prevents the company from using the Java trademark in new products.

A Microsoft lawyer said that, “Microsoft is very pleased with the successful conclusion of this litigation.” The company says that the settlement will not hurt its customer base or prevent it from developing software.
