MS says Web crash own fault

Only hours after an American executive of Sega Corp. condemned reports that the beleagured video game maker would likely stop production of its Dreamcast console, the Japanese management admitted it was so. A company spokesman said, “We are considering restructuring Dreamcast hardware operations worldwide for the next business year and ending Dreamcast console production is one of the options.”

A decision will be made soon though the company vows to support existing Dreamcast users through customer support and new games. The company also admitted that it is negotiating with Sony and Nintendo Co Ltd. to supply software for their consoles.

In related news, The Register reports that Sega may be ready to spin off its Dreamcast console as a set-top box for the British Pace.
