Hynix DDR supply falling short

Taiwanese module makers report that DDR from Hynix Semiconductor is increasingly falling short of demand. Sources report that due to problems in upgrading production, Hynix may only be able to ship six million 128Mbit die in June, down from about 15 million in May. With Samsung unwilling to sell below US$2.50 and limited spot market supply from Micron Technology and Infineon Technologies, DDR prices are expected to rise.
