A data path that reconfigures itself

A story on EE Times talks about something called PipeRench, which uses a 6 metal layer 0.18 micron CMOS technology running at 120 MHz cosisting of 16 processing elements (PEs). The article says, According to the team, the PipeRench performance is competitive with high-end DSP architectures and more than five times faster than a commercial microprocessor. Very cool stuff.
