Open Text Acquires Centrinity

In a deal reported to be worth C$30 million ($19 million US), Centrinity, a Toronto-based developer of “mailbox technology”, has agreed to be acquired by Open Text Corporation, another Ontario corporation. The merger of the two companies will reportedly integrate voice and data conferencing capability in Open Text’s “Livelink” software and combine Centrinity’s messenging technology of linked fax, voice mail and email capability in a single mailbox that can be accessed by computer, cellphone, telephone, or PDA.
