Fantastic Four Update

The Fantastic Four reboot is coming on August 4, 2015, and there’s high hopes it will revitalize the franchise, and finally do another Marvel superhero team true justice on the big screen.

Miles Teller, who’s playing Reed Richards, tells the Hollywood Reporter that this new version is “completely different” than the other attempts, which is good, especially considering there won’t be a “Styrofoam Thing” this time.

“The tone of this film is completely different,” Teller says. I think that [a more grounded approach] is what people are into. You’re dealing with these characters but you’re making them real people in how they exist day-to-day. People wanted it taken more seriously than the kind of Dick Tracy, kitschy, overly comic-book world.”

Now the question everyone’s dying to know. Are we close to superhero burnout? By the time Fantastic Four is unleashed, could audiences be sick and tired of this stuff?

Teller says, “Guardians of the Galaxy was a really fresh take on it (and) I think people responded to that.” Fantastic Four is also opening the same time frame as Guardians, which we assume will also be a good omen for the movie.
