Startup Cornice readies 1" hard drive

A start-up company called Cornice is reportedly very close to releasing a 1″ hard disk drive, that will supposedly offer “50 percent greater capacity than IBM Corp.’s Microdrive at less than half the cost”. Cornice have stated that its 1.5GB internal drive will be retailing for just $70 – perfect for use in a home theatre PC where size and cost are both huge factors. “The drive does not use a conventional interface but instead links directly to a host processor and is designed as an embedded drive.”.
