Microsoft pulls update for Windows

Microsoft has withdrawn its most recent Windows XP security update after discovering that, instead of improving the security of our Internet connections, it instead disabled the Internet for some of the 600,000 users that installed it. “But after releasing the update on May 21, Microsoft discovered it was incompatible with other security firewall software used to protect home computers from attacks over the Internet”. In an attempt to rectify the issue, Microsoft have said that simply uninstalling the update will restore Internet connections, and also that another patch is well on the way.
