Bugbear sequel spells fresh misery for Windows users

There is a new virus doing the rounds, this time it’s the sequel to the infamous Bugbear virus, aptly named Bugbear-B. Bugbear-B, like its predecessor, is a complex mass-mailing worm that spreads by either emailing itself to addresses found on infected PCs or via network shares. “Like its predecessor, Bugbear-B can propagate using the MIME MS01-020 vulnerability and is particularly difficult to spot. This is because it normally arrives in email with variable subject, text and attachment names.”.

Symantec have posted a report on the virus here, or you can read The Register’s commentary here.
