Taiwan's software piracy rate down by 10%

Taiwan’s software piracy rate has dropped by 10 percentage points to 43% in 2002 compared to the year before, according to a study recently released by the US-based Business Software Alliance (BSA). The 2002 world piracy rate marked the first decline of the piracy rate over the prior year since 1999. In 2002, Taiwan had the 26th lowest piracy rate worldwide and the 4th lowest in the Asia-Pacific region, behind New Zealand (24%), Australia (32%) and Japan (35%).
