A Microchip for SARS Diagnosis

The Genome Institute of Singapore and a U. S. medical devices manufacturer are developing a microchip that is capable of instantly telling whether a patient has the deadly SARS virus. The chip – the size of a 50-cent coin – is scheduled to be available early next year, possibly as soon as January.
