Each U.S. Senate and House of Representatives member has their own channel. President Obama has his own official channel complete with a new trial download feature. YouTube has designed a system to make the channels easily navigable. It seems the expansions aren't limited to politics as now The Pope gets his own channel too.

According to AP, the Vatican channel was launched the same day the pontiff praised as a "gift to humanity" the benefits of social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, both in forging friendships and bolstering understandings.

The Pope did warn, however, that virtual socializing has its risks. He warns "obsessive" online networking can isolate people from the real social interactions which are so important.

The channel currently has 12 videos posted on the main page, with four languages available: Italiano, English, Espanol and Deutsch.
