LCD panel makers cautious about Q3 demand for TV applications

  • The inability of brand-name vendors' pricing campaigns to boost their LCD TV sales as much as expected in North America has sent panel suppliers worrying about demand and prices for TV applications in the third quarter, according to industry sources. Sony has already lowered its 32" LCD TVs to as low as $699 in the North American market, engaging its competitors, such as Samsung Electronics, in a price war, the sources indicated.
