Los Angeles (CA) - Sandisk set up a major party today to celebrate the global availability of its 8 GB microSD and M2 cards for mobile phone memory.
Launched in the US earlier this year, Sandisk's 8 GB flash cards, which are smaller than the size of an average thumbprint, are the world's highest capacity mobile media cards.
The tiny memory devices are now available worldwide, and Sandisk knows how much people like to party when it comes to flash memory. So it is hosting events at the Key Club, Roxy Theater, and Viper Room in the heart of Los Angeles.
Sandisk has gone all out, including performances by Linkin Park, Common, The Crystal Method, and Z-Trip. It claims it is the first such event of its kind. The memory cards are available for around $140 (microSD) and $150 (M2).
