BioArts also is offering to clone one dog for free and has asked interested people to complete an entry form, including a 500-word essay in English, explaining why they feel their dog deserves to be cloned.
BioArts International said that it has been granted the sole, worldwide license for the cloning of dogs, cats and endangered species. This exclusive license was granted by Start Licensing for cloning patents developed at the Roslin Institute for Dolly the sheep, the first successfully cloned animal.
